Yoga & Pilates

Yoga and Pilates not only get your body going, but also strengthen your mind.

What is yoga?

Yoga is originally a philosophical teaching from India that combines mental and physical exercises. Yoga exercises are intended to bring body and soul into harmony through a holistic approach. The combination of deep relaxation, breathing exercises, meditation exercises and stretching should improve the interaction of body and mind. The aim is at the same time improved vitality and an attitude of inner serenity.

How does regular yoga work?

Yoga has been shown to have some positive effects on physical and mental health. Under certain circumstances, it can lead to an alleviation of various clinical pictures, such as circulatory disorders, sleep disorders, nervous complaints, chronic headaches or back pain. Yoga trains strength, flexibility, a sense of balance and muscle endurance. For example, the activation of muscles, tendons, ligaments as well as blood and lymph vessels leads to improved blood flow. In addition, the back muscles are strengthened, which in turn can lead to improved posture. Yoga has a calming, balancing effect on many people and can thus counteract the effects of stress.

What is Pilates?

Pilates is a systematic full-body workout in which primarily the deep-seated, small, but mostly weaker muscle groups are addressed, which ensure correct and healthy posture. The training includes strength exercises, stretching and conscious breathing. To a limited extent, it is also suitable for rehabilitation after accidents. A professional introduction to the methods is important in order to avoid movement and posture errors.

What do you train in Pilates?

The aim is to strengthen the muscles, improve stamina and coordination of movements, improve posture, stimulate the circulation and increase body awareness. The basis of all exercises is the training of the so-called “powerhouse”, which means the muscles around the spine that are in the middle of the body, the so-called support muscles. The muscles of the pelvic floor and the deep core muscles are specifically strengthened. All movements are carried out slowly and fluently, whereby the muscles and joints are spared - at the same time breathing is trained. Pilates training can take place on the mat and on specially developed equipment.

Medical history and training plan

Before we can work out a training plan with you, we ensure that your complaints are resolved. To do this, we analyze your physical condition (strength, endurance, flexibility, coordination, balance) and also your goals and wishes. We incorporate medical findings and, if necessary, consult with your specialists. The more precise our analyzes are, the more targeted your individual training can be.
