Pilates is a body conditioning routine that may help build flexibility, muscle strength, and endurance in the legs, abdominals, arms, hips, and back. It puts emphasis on spinal and pelvic alignment “power house”, breathing, and developing a strong core or center, and improving coordination and balance. The Pilates method seeks to develop slow, controlled movement from a strong core and it does this either practicing on a matt or using a range of apparatus to guide and train the body.
